Carmen and the other young people attempt to put on a play to impress the Ofsted inspectors. Elsewhere, Bailey's dad shows up, annoyed at the news his wife has reappeared.

  • The title is a play on the phrase "Barefaced Liar", referring to Allison/Bryony's deception of pretending to be Bailey's mother and a reference to the restaurant owner's model bear.
  • Bryony is credited as "Allison" in the end credits, even though it was not her real name.
  • Floss makes a referral to her past, when in the play, she says "...she might see you again, in a palace. Or a nail bar!" Floss was left by her mother in a nail bar when she was 18 months old.
  • Ryan and Tyler stealing the computer in It's Not About the Money and Jody shoplifting the nappies in Free to Good Home are brought up
  • First appearance of Mr Wharton since season 2's Quitters

  • In the audio described version, the narrator calls Ashdene Ridge "Ashdene Rodge" [sic].
